Size S/M (L/XL)
The jacket is approx. 120 (130) cm. in circumference and will fit a bust measurement of approx. 70-95 cm. (95-115 cm.)
Yarn consumption:
The jacket is knitted in thick yarn to create a sturdy cardigan that feels more like a "solid" jacket. Garter stitch can stretch with use, especially if the yarn is too thin or soft.
We knitted in size L/XL and used 6 balls of New Sky from Mayflower in color 63 Sand, together with one strand of Ecopuno from Lana Grossa in color no. 18 beige grey, of which we used 5 balls.
You can also use other heavy qualities, e.g.
8-9 balls of Puno from Gepard together with 4-5 balls of Cusi from Lana Grossa
Or
5-6 balls of New Sky from Mayflower together with 5-6 balls of All Day Merino from Gepard.
Experiment with different qualities – make a stockinette stitch swatch on 9 mm needles and see if you hit 10 stitches per 10 cm in width.
The gauge is 10 stitches = 10 cm.
You will need 8 stitch markers (sm), a short circular needle (40 cm) 9 mm, a long circular needle (80 cm) 7 and 9 mm. You will also need two stitch holders, or two scraps of yarn to hold some stitches.
The cardigan is knitted in garter ridges, i.e. knit stitch from both the right side and the wrong side. The jacket has raglan sleeves and is worked from the top down, allowing you to measure the length of the sleeves and body as you go.
