The top is knitted bottom-up first, after which the ruffle is knitted top-down. The top features i-cord straps and can be worn over a t-shirt or long-sleeve blouse or as a standalone summer top.
The gauge is 14 stitches = 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles.
The top comes in sizes XS/S (M/L) XL (XXL), measuring approximately 85 (90) 95 (100) cm in circumference at the top edge, suitable for bust measurements of around 70-85 (85-95) 95-110 (110-120) cm. The top is slightly A-line but is intended to fit snugly over the bust without requiring ease.
Yarn requirements (approx.):
- 4 (5) (5) 6 balls of Rico Fashion Light Luxury Brushed Alpaca, knitted with a single strand.
- 4 (5) (5) 6 balls of Permin Bella Mohair, knitted with a single strand.
Other yarns may also work; always knit a swatch beforehand.
Required materials:
- Circular needles, 6 mm, in both 60 cm and 80/100 cm lengths.
- Two double-pointed needles, 6 mm, for the i-cord straps.
- Two stitch markers (or loops of cotton yarn in different colors).
- Two stitch holders or scrap yarn for setting stitches aside.
