The Basic Cardigan is knitted top-down and comes in two sizes. It can be worn by everyone due to its oversized round yoke, which drapes beautifully and naturally regardless of the size you knit or the bust measurement. Additionally, you can customize the body and sleeve lengths to your preference.
The bust circumference is approximately 120-130 cm. For sizes XS/S/M, it will drape more around the bust. The cardigan is about 52 (57) cm long. It is knitted on 7 mm needles with invisible increases across the yoke and features discreet balloon sleeves.
Yarn Requirements:
The cardigan is knitted with 3 strands of Lana Grossa Silkhair. You'll need:
- 250 (275) grams (10 (11) skeins of 25g/210m each).
Gauge: 14 stitches = 10 cm on 7 mm needles.
Needles and Tools:
- Circular needle 6 mm, 80 cm for the neck ribbing. (Length isn't crucial as it’s worked back and forth.)
- Circular needle 7 mm, 80 cm (or longer).
- Short circular needle 7 mm, 40 cm for the sleeves, unless using the Magic Loop technique.
- Double-pointed needles 6 mm for sleeve ribbing (optional, depending on your technique).
